About: Dr. Hayat Ali Yousefzai (born 1 April 1989) is a Pakistani Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Sex Therapist, Researcher, Academic, and Mental Health Advocate with more than 13 years of professional experience in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, psychosexual medicine, psychological assessment, research, teaching, and mental health promotion. Since 2012, he has conducted over 1,000 comprehensive psychological assessments and provided more than 10,000 psychotherapy sessions to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families from Pakistan and internationally. His clinical expertise spans cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychosexual therapy, trauma-focused interventions, personality assessment, child and adolescent psychology, occupational mental health, and reproductive mental health. He is particularly recognized for integrating evidence-based psychological practice with culturally sensitive mental and sexual healthcare. Dr. Yousefzai completed his Master of Science in Health Psychology at the University of Peshawar under a university scholarship and subsequently earned a Post-Master’s Diploma in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Clinical Psychology, University of Karachi. He further strengthened his professional training through a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy, a Certificate in Psychiatry from Aga Khan University, a Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE) from Jinnah Sindh Medical University, and an international certification in Sexual and Reproductive Health offered by the World Health Organization (WHO), the University of Oxford, and the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER). Throughout his career, Dr. Yousefzai has served in several prestigious healthcare and academic institutions, including the Department of Psychiatry, Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, under a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)-supported mental health program, the Institute of Clinical Psychology, University of Karachi, Aga Khan University, Ziauddin University Hospital, and Darul Sehat Hospital. Since 2021, he has also worked as a Senior Consultant Psychologist with The KonTerra Group (USA), providing psychological services and resilience support to humanitarian workers and international organizations. Alongside his institutional roles, he maintains a successful private clinical practice and provides online consultations through leading healthcare platforms. A major focus of Dr. Yousefzai’s professional work is sexual medicine and psychosexual health. He specializes in the assessment and treatment of erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, low sexual desire, performance anxiety, infertility-related psychological distress, marital dissatisfaction, reproductive mental health, and relationship difficulties. His clinical practice combines Cognitive Behavioral Sex Therapy (CBST), evidence-based psychotherapy, and culturally appropriate interventions to help individuals and couples improve intimacy, emotional well-being, and relationship satisfaction. Beyond research and clinical practice, Dr. Yousefzai is an experienced educator and trainer. He has supervised postgraduate clinical psychology interns, taught behavioral sciences, psychotherapy, psychological assessment, counseling, research methodology, and psychometrics, and delivered workshops for universities, healthcare professionals, humanitarian organizations, and corporate institutions.
