About: Melaku Tafese Awulachew is a Food processing technology and Nutrition Researcher at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). His research focuses on sustainable food processing, food engineering, functional foods, food safety, and food and nutrition security. He previously served as Head of the Food Science and Nutrition Research Process at KARC and contributes as a reviewer and editorial board member for international scientific journals. Melaku has authored peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several international scientific journals. He received the 2023 Droga Research Grant in recognition of his contributions to innovative food processing and value-addition research, with a commitment to advancing sustainable agri-food systems and improving food and nutrition security. Currently, Melaku is pursuing his PhD at Addis Ababa university, Ethiopia.
