It is with great pleasure that we can announce the the Honduras Regional Faculty will be presenting the capacity building capabilities of REDe and The Global Health Network at two international meetings in Honduras during August 2017. The faculty is led by Jackeline Alger, who works tirelessly to develop capacity in the region, particularly around ethics and regulatory review bodies.
Forum on Research Ethics in Pregnancy, August 22 and 23, 2017
Within the topic 'interchange opportunites' The Global Health Network and REDe will be promoted for the development and training of IRBs. The platform will be demonstrated and the online courses on research ethics will be promoted for researchers in this area.
Parasitology and Tropical Medicine Meeting, August 24 - 26, 2017
The regional faculty will present about their experience of using TGHN/REDe to train on neonatal growth monitoring in the Zika context
The all participants at the meeting: Parasitology and Tropical Medicine, had the opportunity to watch the premier (at the whole world) of an excellent documentary: "Minutes to die" Snakebite: The World's Ignored Health Crisis. It was a very special moment for people, to watch the video, and have the posibility to talk with his Director:James Reid. Although there was present an autority expert in the theme: Dr. José María Gutiérrez from Clodomiro Picado's Institute, (C.R.)
There will be another opportunity to watch this documentary. This will be in the framework of the Jornada Cientifica meeting, an important annual scientific meeting of the Faculty of Medical Sciences UNAH, which will take place on September 27-29, 2017.
