The Global health Network hosted an internal team Strategy Day at The Global health Network office headquarters in Oxford, with members of MESH network in attendance. The success of the network continues to expand – with over 970,000 hits and 95,000 site memberships! In terms of REDe, the initial phases of planning for getting out into the field and hosting workshops is underway. The REDe team is working closely with MESH to provide the first series of workshops around community engagement, and will also include a launch for the REDe platform. Lots of exciting ideas unfolding! Potential first coordinator research site identified… update on location/dates/content/registration to follow soon!
30/01/2017 TGHN and ZIKAction – UCL, London
The Global health Network REDe team met with the ZIKAction team at the Institute for Child Health, University College London, for an initial project management launch meeting. Lots of discussions regarding work package milestones to ensure they are all on track. The Global Health Network REDe team has commenced with collating the study team contact details, and identifying the research sites (or ‘centres of excellence’) willing to host research skills sharing workshops, seminars and roadshows across the lifetime of the project. The new Global Health Network REDe team activity map of all involved in the three Zika consortia, which is under development and will feature centrally on the REDe platform, was showcased to the ZIKAction team for preview.

The Global Health Network REDe team hosted Dr Maria Lúcia Brito Ferreira, who presented a seminar on The neurological complications of Zika virus. The experience in Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil.
